What we do
Located from our home in Ascot, we sell a variety of timber sourced from the south-west of WA. Here are some of the species we offer –

Marri
Marri’s yellow to pale brown heartwood and paler to white sapwood contrast beautifully with the dark red gum that features on the tree’s trunk. It has a coarse but even texture with slightly interlocked grain. The finished timber is honey-coloured with a distinctive vein structure.
Hardwood

Blackbutt
Blackbutt timber has an even texture. The grain can be interlocked but it is generally straight, making it appealing for interior use applications such as flooring and joinery. The heartwood ranges from golden yellow to pale brown, although occasionally a slight pinkish colour may be present.
Hardwood

yellow stringybark
Yellow stringybark is a hardwood timber used for flooring, decking, construction and structural applications. It features yellow to yellowish-brown heartwood with distinctively paler sapwood. Its grain is medium to fine and mainly straight. Borer resistant and BAL19 rated. A popular choice for builders.
Hardwood

pine
Pine is fairly soft and has a low density, often with very wide annual growth rings. The sapwood is white to pale yellow, but often indistinguishable from the heartwood, which is light brown to yellow. It is used a wide range of applications.
Softwood

southern mahogany
Southern mahogany has deep pink to red-brown heartwood with distinctively paler sapwood. The timber is hard, strong and dense with a medium, even texture and interlocking grain. It is durable and lyctid borers rarely attack the sapwood.
Hardwood

woody pear
Woody Pear’s Heartwood is a dark reddish colour with a decorative figure and its sapwood is a contrasting pale cream colour. When this timber is treated with wax it can produce a silk finish.
Softwood

jarrah
Jarrah is an Australian hardwood renowned for its versatility, durability and strength in a wide range of interior and exterior applications. The heartwood varies in colour from rich reds to browns, while sapwood ranges from a pale yellow to orange. The texture of the timber is moderately coarse and even-textured grain.
Hardwood

sheoak
Sheoak is a hardwood that is red-brown and the sapwood is pale yellow. The texture is moderately even and fine, and the grain is straight. It is a hardwood used for flooring, furniture, roofing shingles, turnery and decorative purposes.
Hardwood

banksia
Banksia wood is reddish in colour and has an appealing grain. The wood has a variety of uses, including boat parts, cabinet panelling and small decorative items; however, it is prone to warping and hence its woodworking applications are somewhat limited.
